Rep Programs

Representative Football Programs for 2008.

Representative Programs

FNQ football  administers Rep Football programs for male and female players from age 12 through to 18.  These "Rep" programs are part of the Football Football Qld and Football Federation Australia, national Identification and player development programs. from 2008 these programs have been completely revamped by Football Queensland to encompass Centres of Excellence as the first tier of representative selections and the Representative Cups as the second tier of representative selection

In the transition period several of the old State Titles are being utilized for the 2008 season including the Ladies Under 15 State Titles.  It is envisaged that this program will be replaced by a Under 15 Girls C.O.E in the future.

Centres of Excellence

FNQ DEVELOPMENT  PROGRAM 2008

CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE

This program is the starting point for a new pathway for players and coaches wishing to represent FNQ and Football Queensland in 2008 and beyond.  Football Queensland have introduced the Junior Premier league for 2008, which will be based on selecting the best 16 players in each determined age group, throughout each zone and allowing them to compete on a more regular basis against their respective age groups from each zone.

The Zone squads will be known as the Centre of Excellence squads and each player accepting a place in this representative squad, will train twice weekly with the COE, play for the COE in the major local competition, (in our Zone CDSA) and three/four times each year play in cross zone competitions including a final selection competition held in June/July school holidays.

This will be a major change in the structure of selections for State recognition and Queensland representative honors. I ask you all to embrace this concept so that our young players have the very best chance of competing and thus selection, when we challenge each other zone in the Junior Premier League.

 Representative Cups

Also in place will be a second tiered structure for those players not quite ready, or who have missed selection at the start of each season.  This will be known as the FNQ Football Development program and will be run in conjunction and alongside the Centre’s of Excellence.

Players will remain with and play for their clubs but attend the development program on a weekly and regular basis, as well as compete in a second level of Zone representative competitions, through out the season, including Gino Paris (U12 boys), Peter Cox Cup (U13 boys) and U15 and17 Girls State Cup competitions  These programs will be run in all regional centres under the guidance of the FNQ Football development office and
RDO.
